Welcome to the gang!

If you’re new here and considering joining us, here are some basics to orient you:

Grassroots, not Corporate Camp™

The idea for Camp Sleepaway Camp came from a group of friends, not a profit-seeking business, so it’s being run by friends like a weekend vacation where everyone splits the costs. We’re renting out an existing camp called Camp Pinnacle, staffed by their events team, but that means we’ll be sharing the dues of this event together.

We’ve reserved the weekend date September 12-14th, 2025. You would arrive as early as Friday and can scoot off as late as Sunday noon. Come for a day or stay the whole weekend!

The more people sign up, the more special we can make Camp by adding on activities, bulking up our entertainment budget, and maybe getting merch?!

Take a tour!

Camp Pinnacle has created a comprehensive 360° tour of its facilities and accommodations:

What’s included with my dues?

As part of your Camp Dues, you get access to all the activities, meals, and entertainment planned. You’ll have to bring a few things, too. We’ll update this website as we get closer to the date with more details, but for now, here’s what to expect:

Accommodations: twin-sized bunk beds in a wide range of cabins. You can rent linens from the camp for $15 or bring your own. There is a large parking lot if you plan to drive.

Meals: Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will all be provided and don’t worry - the food is tasty. Additionally, you are able to bring your own snacks and your own booze.

Activities: This will be a combination of Camp Pinnacle-run and Camp Sleepaway Camp created. We’ll have lifeguards for swimming, paddleboards, tennis/pickleball courts, basketball, volleyball, and other spaces available. The camp has trails for hiking and a mountain biking course. We’ll also have a planning committee to coordinate surprises, entertainment, and more unique activities!

Entertainment: Evening time will be spent collectively as a camp, and Saturday night will be a themed dance party. Again, if you’re interested in planning this, know we will blast an announcement to join the planning committee!

An inclusive, exclusive invite

So who’s invited? If you’re at this website, probably you! You’ve heard about Camp Sleepaway Camp from a friend or family member who knows what it’s all about, and who thinks you’d be a perfect person to have along!

Perhaps you’re already registered and have some friends in mind who you’d like to bring? Love to hear it! The more the merrier.

If you know some special people who can get down with Camp Sleepaway Camp, feel free to intentionally recruit. Please don’t blast on social media: we’re all going on vacation with each other, so one degree of friendship-bracelet friends only. We want to be inclusive (of the first ~150 people :) :) :) ).

If you have any questions about invites – or anything else! – just holler at howdy@campsleepaway.camp

It’s an adult summer camp…but some of us have kids!

Camp Sleepaway Camp is designed to be a safe space for adults to make friends, be their complete selves, and feel accepted in a community of fellow adult campers. That approach comes with some baseline assumptions: being loud, using mature language, and discussing topics that may not be appropriate for the young family-members among us. We respect everyone’s authentic self expression and everything that may come with it (within the law). Kids are totally welcome, as long as you’re cool with them being among us in that approach!

To make it more plain, assuming one’s behavior is respectful of others, we will not ask anyone to modify how they speak, what they speak about, or what they wear to be more child-appropriate.

We are pleased to be able to reserve some cabin space in prime spots for families. We can take on a finite number of family-style cabin reservations, though, and we do ask for an additional $50 for the exclusive arrangement. You’ll find the $50 as an add-on at the registration page. And we’ll email you with the reduced-price kid registration link for kids aged 6+ —  please inquire if your family plans to join us, at howdy@campsleepaway.camp.
